Overview
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a hands‑on Senior Client Enterprise Architect to lead end‑to‑end solution delivery for major retail platforms.
In this role, you will own
architecture leadership
(design, trade‑offs, governance),
active implementation
(mentoring, code reviews, select hands‑on features), and
operational ownership
(delivery sign‑off, post‑release support) of high‑impact solutions, bridging business requirements to working implementations. You will drive Dual‑Track Agile processes, guiding the
Discovery Track
for clarity and design exploration, and the Delivery Track to ensure quality, traceability, and measurable outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines deep
architecture expertise
with hands‑on coding, practical prototyping, and
AI/agent workflow integration
across the software lifecycle—from analysis and design to testing, documentation, and code generation. You will mentor teams, make critical technical trade‑offs, and take full accountability for delivery sign‑off and post‑release support.
This role requires strong
retail platform domain knowledge
(POS systems, store operations),
cloud‑native architecture experience , and fluency with generative and agentic AI tools to accelerate development while preserving architectural integrity. You will be a key driver of
engineering excellence , ensuring solutions are both innovative and operationally robust.
Key Responsibilities
Own end‑to‑end solution delivery
across Discovery and Delivery Tracks, converting business needs into validated prototypes, formal designs, decomposed deliverables, and accepted technical implementations.
Lead the Discovery Track
under Dual‑Track Agile, rapidly prototyping and demoing solutions to validate feasibility and align stakeholders before full implementation.
Translate discovery outcomes into delivery backlog items , ensuring design intent, architecture standards, and non‑functional requirements are preserved throughout implementation.
Lead architecture design and governance
across products and integrations: produce ADRs, interface contracts, data models, sequencing diagrams, migration/rollback plans, and traceability matrices.
Serve as active technical lead in client engagements : facilitate workshops, present technical solutions, make trade‑off decisions, drive approvals, and act as a subject‑matter expert for assigned platform areas.
Implement and demo reference code or critical components , applying hands‑on coding in modern retail platform stacks, reviewing and approving deliverables from implementation teams.
Instrument and leverage AI/agentic workflows
to accelerate design, prototyping, code generation, test‑case creation, specification drafting, and automated validation across the software lifecycle.
Define and enforce architecture standards, reusable integration patterns, and non‑functional requirements
(security, scalability, observability) across client solutions.
Mentor and upskill engineers and architects
on AI‑assisted development, Dual‑Track workflows, specification‑driven design, and platform best practices.
Contribute to platform and portfolio strategy , identifying reusable assets, API‑first designs, and gaps requiring investment.
Own risk analysis and mitigation
for architecture decisions, including backward compatibility, data integrity, and compliance constraints.
Must‑Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of
professional software development experience , including recent hands‑on coding and prototyping in modern technology stacks.
5+ years designing
cloud‑native, microservices, or event‑driven architectures , with experience in Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.
Familiarity with
technology stack
such as Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, React/Vue.
Proven experience
owning end‑to‑end solution delivery , including design, implementation, and post‑release operational accountability for medium‑to‑large projects.
Hands‑on experience
building prototypes or reference implementations
to validate architecture and solution feasibility.
Strong experience with
REST/OpenAPI, messaging platforms , and relational/non‑relational databases (SQL/NoSQL).
Hands‑on proficiency with
CI/CD, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment tooling, automated testing , and
AI/agentic workflows
to accelerate the software lifecycle.
Practical experience with generative AI and AI‑assisted development tools
(e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) with measurable impact on delivery.
Excellent
stakeholder communication skills , able to facilitate workshops, present technical solutions, and collaborate across business and engineering teams.
Proven leadership in
mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and enforcing architecture governance , promoting best practices across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong
retail platform domain knowledge
(POS systems, store operations) is highly desirable.
Certifications such as

or equivalent cloud credentials.
Strong understanding of
