Job Description Cydecor is seeking Information Systems Security Specialists (Mid to Senior Level) to provide cybersecurity engineering, RMF compliance, and information assurance support for Navy tactical networks and associated information systems in support of PMW 160 programs. This role supports the security lifecycle of complex DoD systems, ensuring compliance with DoD, Navy, and RMF requirements across development, integration, testing, and sustainment phases.
Responsibilities
Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities across the full system lifecycle, including system categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring
Develop, maintain, and update RMF artifacts (SSP, SAP, SAR, POA&M, ATO packages) in eMASS
Conduct security control implementation and validation in accordance with NIST 800-53, DoDI 8510.01, and Navy cybersecurity policies
Perform vulnerability analysis and remediation using ACAS, STIGs, SCAP, and HBSS/HBSS-related tools
Coordinate with Authorizing Officials (AO), ISSMs, ISSOs, engineers, and program stakeholders to support ATOs, renewals, and system changes
Support system hardening, configuration management, and security testing activities for tactical networks
Assess and document security impacts of system changes, patches, and upgrades
Support incident response activities, cybersecurity reporting, and compliance audits
Provide cybersecurity guidance to engineering and operations teams to ensure secure system design and sustainment
Participate in technical reviews, security working groups, and program reviews as required
Qualifications Information Systems Security Specialist - Mid Level
5+ years of experience supporting DoD or Navy cybersecurity / RMF efforts
Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining RMF documentation and ATO packages
Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, RMF, STIGs, ACAS, and DoD cybersecurity policies
Experience supporting classified systems and tactical or operational networks
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate across technical teams
Information Systems Security Specialist - Senior Level
8+ years of experience supporting DoD or Navy cybersecurity / RMF efforts
Demonstrated experience leading RMF efforts for complex systems and portfolios
Proven ability to interface directly with AOs, senior government stakeholders, and program leadership
Advanced knowledge of Navy tactical networks, enclave architectures, and cybersecurity compliance
Experience mentoring junior cybersecurity personnel and providing technical leadership
Desired
Experience supporting PMW 160, NAVWAR, or similar Navy tactical network programs
Familiarity with CANES, ADNS, ISNS, SubLAN, SCI-LAN, or coalition networks
Experience with DevSecOps, virtualization, or containerized environments
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+, or CASP+
Security Clearance
Active Secret clearance required
TS/SCI preferred for higher‑classification environments
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Master’s degree preferred for senior roles
Equivalent military cybersecurity or technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Work Schedule
Full‑time, Monday–Friday.
Primary place of performance is San Diego, CA
Compensation and Benefits The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 - 165,000. Numerous factors may impact a final salary/hourly rate, including relevant work experience, skills and competencies, work location, education/certifications, and a contract’s Labor Categories.
