Position Description:
The Senior Administrative Services Manager (IRB Administrator) provides leadership and oversight for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC). This role is responsible for managing IRB submissions, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits in accordance with DoD, Navy, and federal regulations. The position also serves as a resource for junior staff and acts as a key liaison across research and clinical teams.
Requirements
Educational Requirements:
A minimum of a
Bachelor’s Degree
in life sciences, public health, psychology, or a related field.
Additional Qualifications:
A minimum of
5 years of Institutional Review Board (IRB) review experience
or equivalent experience in military medical R&D activities.
Certified IRB Professional (CIP)
certification preferred; 2 years of relevant experience can be submitted in lieu of CIP certification.
A minimum of
3 years of experience reviewing and/or managing research and development (R&D) studies .
Strong knowledge of
medical terminology, clinical research processes, and IRB submission/filing guidelines .
Ability to
communicate effectively , both orally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders including research staff, clinical teams, and senior leadership.
Demonstrated
organizational, analytical, and supervisory skills
to manage multiple projects, staff, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency with
Windows-based computer systems , including Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with
government contracting or completion of a background investigation
is preferred.
Ability to
train and mentor junior staff
on IRB procedures, compliance, and regulatory best practices.
