Director of Communications – Community Development Partnership
CDP is seeking an experienced Director of Communications to develop and execute integrated communications that raise our visibility, deepen engagement, and acquire new supporters and donors. The role designs integrated campaigns across email, newsletters, website, social media, print, and events, and works closely with the Chief Advancement Officer.
Ideal Candidate We look for an ambitious, organized, and creative professional motivated by storytelling and digital tools to get people to act. The candidate is mission‑driven, collaborative, and comfortable owning the full communications function in a small, busy nonprofit.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Brand Leadership – Partner with the CAO and leadership to develop a clear communications strategy, maintain brand consistency across channels, and create annual content plans aligned with fundraising and program goals.
Internal Editing and Copy – Write newsletters and content, draft press releases, edit copy for clarity and impact, and help staff frame stories with a philanthropic focus.
Thought Leadership and Public Relations – Identify and pursue thought‑leadership opportunities (op‑eds, speaking engagements, etc.) to raise CDP’s profile.
Fundraising Communication – Assist the CAO in messaging and promoting fundraising campaigns across email, social media, website, and other channels, and support major events such as “Summer Evening on the Farm” and house parties.
Outreach, Content Creation, & Logistics – Coordinate outreach, produce content, and manage logistics for events and campaigns.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range:** $79,000–$85,000 annually.
CDP also offers a generous benefits package including vacation & sick time, health, dental and vision insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 4% company match.
Location and Hours Full‑time exempt position (37.5 hours/week). Primary office at 180 Cranberry Highway, Orleans, MA, with the option to work remote up to 3 days per week.
