Certified Hospitality Management
We're searching for an experienced hotel General Manager to add to our Certified Hospitality Management family and oversee the Hilton Garden Inn Starkville property.
Salary: $60,000-$80,000 per year
A Day in the Life: Your mornings might begin with a property walk-through, followed by reviewing occupancy reports and meeting with your leadership team. By mid-day, you could be helping host property events or strategizing with your food & beverage team about an upcoming conference room booking. Later, you might be analyzing performance metrics or mentoring team members, always ensuring high standards are maintained across all operations.
Responsibilities Summary Overseeing payroll, hiring, and daily hotel operations to meet planned goals for revenue, house profit, and RevPAR index. This role also upholds company standards for guest satisfaction, colleague satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection.
Detailed Responsibilities
Build and mentor a high-performing team that embodies our family‑first culture, delivering personalized service that exceeds expectations
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability across all business lines while maintaining the highest standards of guest and resident satisfaction
Represent the hotel in a professional, knowledgeable, and eloquent manner
Ensure compliance with all Brand and Certified Hospitality Management standards
Maintain an impeccably clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere inside and out
Develop and execute both a short‑ and long‑term operating plan to meet or exceed budgeted fiscal performance goals
Attend monthly property review meetings to report on hotel performance
Ensure an operating environment that will maximize guest satisfaction
Exceed customer service standards as measured by brand inspections, brand survey reports and social media reviews. Respond to all reviews and initiate corrective action when necessary
Establish a presence in the community through participation in local events, associations and community service projects
Ensure revenue maximization through daily coordination with the assigned brand revenue management support representative
Perform sales duties or work closely with the Sales Manager to set and achieve local account and group business sales objectives
Continually recruit, train, and monitor staff. Ensure proper staffing levels on each shift
Create and maintain a pleasant, safe, and mutually respectful work environment. Continually interact with and motivate all staff members
Establish and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
Qualifications
Passionate about mentoring teams and creating a culture of excellence
A bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Business is a plus
Previous General Manager experience is preferred
Previous Hilton Experience is preferred
Full service Food & Beverage experience preferred
Equivalent experience is acceptable: 2‑5 years as Assistant General Manager or other hotel management role
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and hotel management systems
Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work a flexible work schedule as hours will vary
