FMC Ice Sports
Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports,” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice‑based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice‑skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long‑term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.
Facility Supervisor The Facility Supervisor is responsible for on‑site supervision of staff and facilities to ensure that clean, safe, and healthy facilities are available. Routine maintenance and janitorial functions are required while the facility is open to the public. The position requires driving/operating an ice resurfacer. The Facility Supervisor reports to the General Manager or Arena Manager and works alone or with other positions as required by the facility activities schedule. The work schedule includes nights, weekends, and some holidays as necessary to meet patron needs.
Responsibilities
Maintain and secure the facility.
Make and maintain ice surface and maintain arena facilities.
Complete and maintain required logs.
Ensure facilities are cleaned on a regular basis.
Scheduling and payroll as determined by the General/Arena Manager.
Train new hires in coordination with the General/Arena Manager and Operations Personnel.
Oversee the on‑site staff, including Facility Operators and Facility Support Staff.
Demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service for both internal and external customers.
Full‑time seasonal (August – April). Eligible for medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401(k), and earned time after the eligibility period is met.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
One year of work experience in an ice arena or similar organization, with exposure to operations and maintenance functions; knowledge of equipment is preferred but not required.
Experience driving an ice resurfacer is preferred, but training can be provided.
Self‑starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a variety of individuals.
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Compensation Base pay range: $24–$28 per hour.
Eligible for an annual increase of 2%–4% based upon performance. Eligible for a year‑end discretionary bonus. Individual compensation packages are based upon various factors unique to each candidate.
