Base pay range:

$150,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

The company is investing heavily in strengthening enterprise-wide trade governance, enhancing regulatory consistency, and modernizing compliance infrastructure across its U.S. operations.

Role Overview The Director of U.S. Customs & Trade Compliance will provide strategic and operational leadership across all U.S. brokerage and forwarding activities. This role holds national responsibility for import governance, CBP engagement, audit oversight, and regulatory risk management across multiple high-volume gateway locations, including Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, and Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and evolve the company’s U.S. customs and trade compliance strategy

Oversee HTS classification governance, drawback programs, reconciliation filings, and post‑entry activity

Serve as the senior point of contact with CBP and partner government agencies

Direct internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action initiatives across all U.S. locations

Provide regulatory guidance, training, and escalation support to brokerage and operations teams

Maintain oversight of ACE accounts, broker licensing, and compliance record‑keeping systems

Ensure adherence to CTPAT, bonded operations, ISA, and other regulatory programs

Drive modernization, technology adoption, and continuous improvement within compliance functions

Candidate Profile

Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)

required

15+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade governance, or brokerage leadership

Deep technical expertise in CBP regulations, including drawback, reconciliation, and audit management

Proven track record leading national or multi‑branch compliance teams

Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at senior leadership level

Willing to be based in or relocate to Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, or Los Angeles
