Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Full Time, Day) Job Description At NorthBay Health the Nuclear Medicine Technologist works under the supervision of the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist and/or Supervisor of Radiology. Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures according to the protocols in the Procedure Manual for the Department of Nuclear Medicine. Performs Quality Control testing on radiation detection equipment. Completes required paperwork for each patient to assure proper billing. Gives each patient a thorough explanation of the procedure being performed. Reports all equipment malfunctions to Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist and/or Supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use. Reports, to the Supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging, all patient complaints, discrepancies, unexpected events, negative outcomes and drug reactions.

Education

Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

License/Certification

State of California Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine and AHA or equivalent BLS Certification.

Skills

Computer experience.

Demonstrate current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients across all age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal.

Interpersonal Skills

Hours Of Work

8‑hour shifts on weekdays.

Emergency stand‑by on weeknights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Compensation

Hourly salary range: $70.92 – $86.19 (offered based on years of experience).

Generous shift differentials.
