Position Title: Facility Security Officer (FSO)

We are seeking an
experienced and mission‑driven Facility Security Officer (FSO)
to lead all aspects of industrial security, personnel security, and CMMC compliance.
Key Responsibilities Industrial Security & Compliance
Serve as the FSO for Security 2.0’s federal contracting portfolio.
Manage and maintain the company’s Facility Clearance (FCL) in accordance with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and DCSA guidance.
Ensure compliance with the DD‑254, including classified access, safeguarding levels, and subcontractor flow‑down requirements.
Implement, oversee, and continuously enhance the Insider Threat Program, annual training, and reporting mechanisms.
Conduct and maintain self‑inspections, prepare for DCSA vulnerability assessments, and oversee corrective actions.
Maintain updated Standard Practice Procedures (SPPs) for all applicable operations within Security 2.0.
Personnel Security (PERSEC)
Manage personnel clearances (e‑QIP / CE / NBIS), adverse information reporting, and visit authorizations.
Provide onboarding and security briefings for cleared personnel; deliver annual refresher and specialized training.
Maintain JPAS/DISS/NBIS records and ensure accuracy and timeliness for all cleared personnel actions.
Cybersecurity & CMMC Compliance
Lead compliance efforts for CMMC Level 1 and Level 2, including maintaining the System Security Plan (SSP), POA&M, and continuous readiness documentation.
Ensure alignment with:
NIST SP 800‑171
DoD CIO cybersecurity requirements
FedRAMP Moderate (as applicable for cloud workloads)
Support audits, assessments, and readiness reviews with DoD customers and third‑party assessment organizations.
Classified Workflows & Secure Facility Operations
Oversee secure facility build‑out requirements; coordinate with DCSA and appropriate government security authorities for approvals related to classified storage and secure classified workspaces.
Ensure physical, technical, and administrative controls for handling classified material.
Support classified meetings, secure VTCs, document control, and secure destruction procedures.
Coordinate all FCL, PERSEC, CMMC, and DD‑254 requirements.
Implement security flow‑downs, conduct periodic assessments, and validate compliance across the teaming environment.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience as an FSO, Assistant FSO, or Industrial Security Manager in a DoD environment.
Demonstrated expertise with:
32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM)
DCSA assessments and vulnerability reviews
DISS/NBIS, visit authorizations, and PERSEC workflows
CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 implementation
NIST SP 800‑171
Experience supporting programs involving AI, cybersecurity, OSINT, or mission‑critical data environments is highly desirable.
Strong communication, training, and technical documentation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with executives, government customers, and subcontractor leadership.
FSO certification through CDSE (Security Professional Education Development) preferred.
Experience participating in or managing a C3PAO/CMMC assessment. Prior experience supporting DoD and R&D programs and establishing a secure facility or SCIF/Closed Area is preferred.
Required Clearance & Contingency Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to maintain eligibility for access to classified information.
Contract Contingency:
This position is contingent upon contract award and final customer approval by the Government customer.
Hiring Timeline:
No formal offers of employment will be extended until official notification of contract award is received. Candidates should be prepared for a potential employment start date determined by the contract award and customer onboarding schedule.
