Sr. Sales Engineer, Federal
Join Rubrik’s Federal team as a Sr. Sales Engineer, providing technical direction and business guidance to our regional sales team. You will be responsible for driving innovative technical programs, overseeing day‑to‑day account‑level activities, and evangelizing Rubrik’s hybrid cloud data management platform across enterprise, mid‑market, and small‑business customers.
What You’ll Do
Provide technical leadership and direction to Federal customers and internal staff in the development of fully integrated technology solutions.
Assist in the analysis, design, and development of integrated solutions.
Demonstrate subject‑matter expertise on Rubrik’s products, distributed architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings.
Act as a technical expert and consultant to develop proposals that meet customer requirements.
Make technical and sales presentations to customer technical staff and senior management.
Serve as a trusted technology advisor to customers and an internal resource on technical issues.
Build relationships with the account team, partners, and customers to support sales objectives and leverage corporate resources.
Lead technical sales calls and qualify sales opportunities based on technical requirements, competition, decision‑making process, and funding.
Preferred Qualifications
5‑7 years of sales engineering experience, preferably in software or data‑center environments.
Broad technical knowledge in cloud data management, backup and disaster recovery, and data analytics.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and a "get it done" attitude.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, handling multiple calls and demos per day with immediate follow‑up.
High level of business acumen and experience working with CxO level personnel, delivering technology solutions to solve business challenges.
Smart, adaptable, and open‑minded.
Security and Privacy Responsibilities
Follow system‑specific security policies and procedures.
Protect data and individual privacy per regulations.
Perform ongoing activities in compliance with service and contractual obligations.
Participate in role‑based training and complete assignments timely.
Report security issues promptly and assist in investigations.
Support controlled changes and vulnerability remediation activities.
Collaborate with Information Security to design, implement, and assess security and privacy controls.
Position Risk Designation This position may require additional background checks with periodic re‑screening. Refer to the detailed risk designations below for specific requirements.
Compensation and Benefits US (SF Bay Area, DC Metro, NYC) Pay Range: $136,220 to $175,000 USD. US2 (all other U.S. offices/remote) Pay Range: $129,430 to $175,000 USD. Compensation includes a base salary, commissions per the company’s Incentive Compensation Plan, equity, and benefits.
