As Assistant Retail Sales Manager you will provide effective leadership for the retail store. Under the guidance and direction of the Retail Store Manager, you will assume responsibility for store P&L, driving revenue growth, market growth and market share, and for effectively managing expenses, profitability, and customer satisfaction/experience. You will be held accountable for an operating plan that is consistent with these strategies and principles and that delivers the expected results.

Responsibilities

Meet or exceed sales, margin, and profitability goals.

Execute store merchandising and product strategies.

Assist in development and implementation of monthly promotional campaigns and marketing plans.

Assist store manager in weekly and monthly scheduling.

Collaborate with inventory management team to maximize the return on inventory investments.

Accountable for meeting inventory objectives and effectively managing loss prevention goals.

Assist in the development and implementation of operating processes that are aligned with the overall retail strategy.

Conduct audits within store to insure effective operations.

Assist in selection, development, and evaluation of team members.

Assist in performance goals for each team member and provide regular performance feedback.

Provide effective training and accountability for staff on internal operating system, customer service principles, cash management procedures and safety/loss prevention etc.

Requirements

Proven ability to manage all aspect of a retail operation.

Experience leading, coaching and developing a retail staff

Financial Acumen with proven track record in managing and tracking retail expenses and profitability

Strong Computer Skills

Specialty Retail and/or market/industry knowledge preferred

Able to contribute to strategic planning process and show knowledge about opportunities/risks for the business

Possess decision making skills; able to assess issues and resolve any problems

Customer Service Skills to include listening, negotiation, and communication skills to resolve any issues/concerns

Demonstrate flexibility and ability to multi-task.

4 Year Degree or Equivalent

Prior Retail Operations Leadership Experience desired – prefer specialty retail background.
