Overview Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, serving more than 600 providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. It treats half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer annually. We are looking for an Oncology Liaison Senior to support our San Antonio, TX location.

What does the Oncology Liaison Senior do? The Oncology Liaison Senior is a sales leader responsible for prospecting, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with referring physicians to achieve practice growth goals. The role requires expert knowledge of sales planning, analysis, targeting, reporting, and territory development.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with operational leaders, physicians, site managers, and practice staff to understand and evaluate business needs, and plan and execute sales and marketing strategies aligned with practice goals.

Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues and ensure timely communication and follow‑up.

Maintain ongoing communication with referring physicians and their office staff through peer‑to‑peer visits, routine or follow‑up appointments, emails, and phone calls.

Develop and implement practice growth strategies in core markets and partner with Practice Marketing to execute the sales approach in each market.

Utilize CRM, market analysis, trends, and performance reporting to develop sales plans and track practice growth.

Support practice growth by engaging physicians and resources through practice visits, sales calls, tumor boards, community events, trade shows, and cross‑business collaboration.

May supervise and mentor other Oncology Liaisons.

Adhere to liaison administrative duties, including managing travel expenses within guidelines, completing expense reports promptly, and using tools such as Salesforce and Business Objects.

Qualifications

4‑year undergraduate degree required, preferably in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or Healthcare. MBA preferred but not required.

Minimum 5–7 years of healthcare sales experience, preferably performing physician account coverage.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

Proven record of success in sales, preferably healthcare.

Highly collaborative and capable of performing in a matrixed environment.

Expert understanding of consultative sales, call cycles, and territory planning.

Fact‑based decision maker with strong emphasis on data, trends, and market analytics.

Proficiency with CRM and business intelligence reporting, preferably Salesforce and Business Objects.

Strategic thinker who is financially oriented and understands how to drive profitable growth.

Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work with a wide range of individuals, especially physicians.

Expert in conflict management and resolution skills, handling customer complaints and objections.

Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Demands Employees must be regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Position requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. It requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required. Work Environment Work is performed within the assigned territory during regular business hours, with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. The role involves in‑person interaction with co‑workers, management, and clients, and requires travel by automobile approximately 70% of the work week, with regular outside‑office activities to build relationships.
