Supervisor, Analytical Laboratory – Swing Shift
Overview Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory that monitors medication use through drug testing services. The Supervisor, Analytical Laboratory oversees performance of analytical laboratory processes using immunoassay and/or LC‑MS/MS technology.
Work Schedule Tuesday through Saturday, 4 pm – 12:30 am PST
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day supervision of testing personnel and reporting of laboratory test results under CLIA regulation.
Direct and constant supervision to Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants as required by state and federal regulations.
Oversight of testing areas and other laboratory personnel as applicable.
Monitoring test analyses using immunoassay and/or LC‑MS/MS technology and specimen examinations to maintain analytic performance.
Scheduling staff to meet production goals.
Ensuring completion of Laboratory Occurrence Management (LOM) forms for anomalies and documentation of corrective action.
Participation in process improvement activities such as quality, safety, document management & control, and proficiency testing.
Interaction with vendors on special projects such as test method validations and new equipment.
Responsible for technical studies designed to improve or validate clinical laboratory testing methods.
Assistance with advanced troubleshooting of equipment, instruments, and assay performance.
Assistance with training of laboratory personnel as appropriate.
Ensuring performance of preventative maintenance and calibrations on laboratory equipment and instruments; contact vendors for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Writing and maintaining laboratory documents such as Standard Operating Procedures and departmental forms.
Performance evaluations of direct reports.
Adherence to safety procedures, policies, precautions, and Quality Assurance guidance.
Participation in internal laboratory audits.
Additional duties as assigned.
Fulfillment of CLIA General Supervisor role responsibilities, including accessibility for on‑site, telephone, or electronic consultation.
Resolution of technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the laboratory director or technical supervisor.
Monitoring of test performance and ensuring remedial actions for deviations.
Providing orientation for testing personnel.
Ensuring HIPAA, confidentiality, compliance, and cybersecurity controls are always adhered to.
Secondary Accountabilities The Supervisor, Analytical Laboratory remains aware of evolving needs and opportunities, demonstrating flexibility to support the company's success. The Supervisor pursues educational opportunities to maintain advanced, up‑to‑date knowledge in the field and performs all other related duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
Current California CLS license (Generalist or Limited Toxicologist/Chemist).
National certification from ASCP or similar.
Out‑of‑state Medical Technologists may be considered if a California CLS is obtained within 6 months of hire.
Education and experience combinations: 6+ years CLS/MT experience with a Bachelor’s; 4+ years clinical laboratory experience with a Master’s; 2+ years with a PhD.
Minimum 2 years of experience post-CLS/MT license.
Highly preferred supervisory experience.
Knowledge of laboratory methods and techniques.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and supplies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
High attention to detail with accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to lead staff and manage projects.
Maintenance of continuing education units required by California Department of Health Services.
Physical Requirements Sitting 50%, walking 30%, standing 20%; lifting up to 50 lbs. Physical requirements may vary by department.
Mental Requirements Read and understand standard operating procedures; convert SOP instructions into work‑related tasks.

Potential Hiring Range
Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000
Night‑Shift Differential: $10,000
