Base pay range $157,000.00/yr - $218,000.00/yr
As a centralized team, the Creative Audio Organization touches nearly every product Meta produces. We’re now seeking an experienced Design Program Manager to join our Family of Apps team, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of audio across Meta's Family of Apps (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads and MetaAI). You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product design, branding and engineering, to design audio experiences that span multiple devices, such as smartphones, smart glasses, VR headsets, and AR/MR experiences. As part of our team, you will work alongside a team of Interaction Sound Designers who are responsible for helping build brand recognition, and enhance the overall brand experiences across all of our products. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with product and creative teams across Meta to drive sonic innovation and create meaningful experiences that connect people in new ways.
Design Program Manager - Family of Apps (FoA) Responsibilities
Identify and drive large, program‑level product initiatives forward that have multiple stakeholders, competing deadlines, multiple dependencies and many moving parts
Prioritize, assess tradeoffs, propose clear solutions and communicate strategically
Identify, define and manage multi‑team strategic initiatives that drive efficiency and impact, often contributing best practices to the discipline
Advocate for design‑driven solutions and apply design thinking to programs and operations
Own and facilitate meetings to drive progress against goals and objectives and establish clear next steps and owners, while resolving blocks that impede progress
Proactively assess risk, raise flags and resolve issues before they become problems for larger teams
Sought out as the operations subject‑matter expert to the product team and trusted leader across the company, collaborating and sharing in‑depth knowledge with team members
Communicate persuasively to the right audience to get buy‑in and feedback
Proactively problem solve and distribute information effectively
Define and measure impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively, continually refining and iterating to ensure usage and adoption
Scale internal organization programs and initiatives when necessary and delegate effectively with clear expectations
Source and manage operational budgets, vendor relationships and contracts
Minimum Qualifications
6+ years of experience working with product teams or programs (or other equivalent fields) from roadmapping through delivery
Experience working directly with product designers, user experience researchers, and content designers
Track record of operating under your own initiative and without oversight
Experience leading product or business strategy in a time‑sensitive environment
Experience managing vendors and contractors
Experience using data to identify problems and communicate solutions
Experience managing time‑critical projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a wide‑range of stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with governance frameworks that ensure process efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with hardware and software product development and user experience objectives
Experience with AR/MR technology or game development
Interest in AI or generative AI systems
Familiarity with audio production and audio production software
Understanding of DSP, audio synthesis, and digital audio concepts and formats
Experience organizing and visualizing data using SQL and Tableau
