Compensation (Southern California Only): Salary Range: $72,390.00 – $80,010.00.

Anticipated Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): $19,200.00.

Total Compensation: $91,590.00 – $99,210.00 (Salary + COLA).

Position Description The Field Engineer (FE) reports to the Superintendent and supports front‑line field management. The role is a pathway to Office Engineer or Project Engineer positions.

Essential Duties

Survey and layout work in compliance with designs and contract documents.

Inspect concrete forms for accuracy and embedded items before concrete placement.

Perform production trend analysis and report for weekly/monthly schedule and cost control.

Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives, and coordinate trade partners.

Coordinate material deliveries, inspect delivered materials for quantity, quality, and condition, and report discrepancies.

Provide clarification of plans and specifications to foremen and trade partners.

Supervise trade partners and direct workforces to gain supervisory experience.

Participate in jobsite safety meetings and weekly safety audits.

Collaborate with the VDC team on scope, execution plans, and deliverables.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

One year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license.

Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), ProjectSight, Primavera, and Autodesk Suite.

Ability to interpret plans and specifications.

Problem‑solving ability and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous internships in the construction industry.

Physical Work Classification & Demands

Moderate physical work: occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, and constant light lifting up to 10 lbs.

Tasks include walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and typing.

Exposure to variable temperatures, noise, precipitation, wind, and occasional ladder or scaffolding use.
