Responsibilities
Report to the President & CEO and serve as a member of the executive leadership team, providing operational and strategic leadership to all organizations within Garnet Health.
Collaborate and provide expert strategic advice as part of a team, planning, directing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating overall activities to ensure mission and objectives are met.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and medical staff to support mutual goals.
Work with leadership to develop clinical programs that meet community needs.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, Federal, State, AMA rules, regulations and internal policies.
Oversee clinical and support departments (Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Security, Food and Nutrition Services, Environmental Services).
Develop strategic plans, formulate budgets, manage site‑specific projects, interpret policy and make timely decisions impacting patient care.
Communicate effectively across departments and provide crisis management.
Act as an administrative liaison to patients, families, employees and external customers.
Assume role of CEO in their absence and exercise management responsibility over the system to ensure efficient services for patients, physicians, the public and staff.
Salary Transparency Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State Salary Transparency Law: $490k – $595k salaried. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay or other benefits.
Qualifications Minimum Education
Completion of an advanced degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management, medicine, or related field.
Minimum Experience
Minimum of ten years of progressive responsibility in a hospital system or related field, including seven years of executive leadership experience.
Experience working directly with a Board of Directors and executive management, collaborating and influencing organizational goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting financial statements, analyses, trends and key indicators.
Working Conditions
Environmental demands: works in a clean, well‑lit, heated or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards.
For remote/hybrid positions, may be required to report on‑site if operationally necessary.
Physical demands: full range of motion, visual/auditory acuity, finger dexterity; ability to lift 10 lbs, sit, stand, walk, and endure long periods of activity.
Mental demands: foster collaboration, work under pressure, organize, synthesize information, prioritize tasks, and maintain sensitivity to community needs. May involve irregular hours, evenings or weekends.
Physical requirements: travel to multiple facilities.
