Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Wastewater Project Engineer/Manager for our San Diego office. As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities
Develop technical treatment strategies, select treatment processes, develop process design criteria, and deliver projects.
Directly coordinate and collaborate with clients.
Coordinate with internal technical specialists and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
Evaluate progress of the project staff and recommend changes to achieve overall project objectives.
Plan, design, permit, and construct wastewater-related projects.
Manage interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs.
Perform project management, prepare assessment and design reports, conduct design calculations, size equipment, prepare construction documents, and support construction management/commissioning.
Conduct fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction; occasional travel may be required.
Lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations.
Advance client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by local office and firm-wide resources.
Engage in site visits to pre-position for projects, participate in proposal preparation and interviews, develop scope, schedule, and budget for pursuits, and lead pursuits for wastewater projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
PE license.
12+ years of experience in wastewater-related infrastructure, including project management (planning, design, and construction).
Experience delivering multi-year projects in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Self-starter with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
Capability to present complex issues to nontechnical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Experience managing projects with fees of $2M or more.
Experience negotiating multiple contracts with clients.
Experience recruiting staff.
Leadership roles in professional societies.
Familiarity with CADD, GIS, Revit, or similar software.
