Purpose of the Job
The Director of Operations is responsible for and directs (directly or delegates) all aspects and departments of the Repair Station including Production, Sales, Business Development, Customer Service, Engineering, Shipping and Receiving, and indirectly Material Planning. Due to the scope of responsibility, this position can be delegated as the Accountable Manager.
Reports to:
Vice President of MRO
Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure that the manpower resources for all required tasks are available in terms of number of personnel, staff training and staff qualifications
Ensure that the equipment, tooling, and materials are available for all required work.
Hiring of personnel/staffing
Assure accomplishment of annual employee feedback and performance reviews
Establish reports, and accountable for all Key Performance Indicators and metrics
Establish and maintain the annual budget and adjust as required
Company production and forecasting of the in-house work
Communicate and enforce company policy
Communicate regularly with executive management and staff
Ensure that the Repair Station complies with all applicable aspects of FAA FAR 145, EASA 145 and other certifications to ensure continued certification
Assure the Repair Station complies with all Customer/OEM contractual obligations as required per the specific contracts
Assure the RSM/QCM, Training Manual and EASA Supplement are kept current and approves Capability List changes
Primary Liaison between the Repair Station and the FAA
Administration of the FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing program
Requirements
Possess either an FAA Airframe, or Airframe/Powerplant, or be eligible for a Repairman certificate upon taking the position is desirable
5-10 Years of relevant Management Experience in Aviation Maintenance or Repair Station operations
Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and production control
4 Year related degree desired
