The Assistant Director, Edwardson Social Entrepreneurship Program (ESEP) manages the planning and execution of multiple Rustandy Center programs and activities in the social entrepreneurship domain. Responsibilities include event execution, program administration, research, and stakeholder engagement for the marquee John Edwardson, ’72, Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC) competition, Tarrson Social Venture Fellows program, faculty commercialization, and other new and existing programs. The role is based in the Hyde Park campus with occasional events and meetings in downtown Chicago. Responsibilities

Provide program administration and execution support for the suite of social entrepreneurship programs within ESEP. Administer the John Edwardson, ’72, Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC) program throughout the academic year, supporting social venture creation and coordinating key events, application review, judge logistics, and final competition execution. Manage and execute milestone events such as anniversaries and ad‑hoc events, coordinating with speakers, registration, staffing, and marketing teams. Assist with continued venture support programs for students and alumni, including managing the Tarrson Social Venture Fellows program and alumni social venture support awards. Maintain relationships with Entrepreneurs‑in‑Residence, supporting relevant programs and workshops. Assist with all aspects of the Rustandy Center’s faculty commercialization program, including application and project scoping, training sessions, and cross‑campus collaboration. Liaise with student group leaders at Chicago Booth and other units to support student engagement. Foster alumni communities connected to ESEP programming. Contribute to program evolution by refining offerings, tracking developments at peer institutions, and developing external relationships. Help develop and track metrics to assess the success of social entrepreneurship and impact initiatives. Provide program support to broader Business and Society portfolio events. Advise and recommend programming concepts to leaders of various organizations. Market student activities programming throughout the year and develop protocols for evaluating program effectiveness. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a related job discipline. Minimum two years of experience in program or project management, event execution, and/or business administration. Technical Skills or Knowledge

Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and MS Office. Willingness to learn new software. Proficiency with Airtable or other relational database or CRM software. Preferred Competencies

Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills with keen attention to detail. Creative and resourceful with strong problem‑solving skills. Enjoys administrative work and event planning. Manages frequent interruptions and concurrent projects successfully. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Passion for student engagement. Strong team player willing to support colleagues as needed. Interest in social entrepreneurship and/or social impact. Working Conditions

Expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office. Flexibility to travel locally and occasionally start early or work late to assist with Rustandy Center events. Application Documents
