Senior Credit Officer – Private Equity + Private Credit Funds - Vice President
Location: New York, NY
Role Summary: The Senior Credit Officer will manage Deutsche Bank’s counterparty credit risk to U.S. financial sponsor and private capital clients. The Officer will oversee a dedicated portfolio of funds, approving transactions and monitoring counterparties on an ongoing basis, while providing leadership to junior team members.
What You’ll Do
Conduct initial credit due diligence for new clients by meeting with fund managers to understand investment strategy, risk management, and trading products; then approve credit limits, transaction structures, and documentation terms based on the risk assessment.
Review and approve transaction requests for private equity and private credit funds, including FX hedging, deal‑contingent trades, and structured financing such as NAV and single–asset financing.
Ensure appropriate credit covenants are incorporated into legal agreements to protect Deutsche Bank’s interests in the event of default or credit deterioration.
Maintain ongoing client dialogue and prepare annual credit reviews and reports outlining risk profiles, investment strategies, and liquidity considerations.
Track portfolio risk and exposures using internal stress‑test data, exposure dashboards, and performance reports; manage day‑to‑day transaction approvals and margin setting.
Stay informed on market developments affecting private markets and hedge funds, including regulatory changes and asset‑class stress scenarios.

Engage directly with top‑tier clients and senior business leaders, owning credit decisioning and stakeholder communication.
Provide subject‑matter expertise to guide and develop junior team members.
Skills You’ll Need
Degree level education or equivalent, with extensive experience managing private‑equity and private‑credit fund credit risk.
Deep understanding of fund structures, limited‑partnership agreements, valuation methods, and the associated risks.
Comprehensive product knowledge of derivative instruments and financing products, including NAV financing, and the risk characteristics of structured transactions.
Familiarity with master trading documentation such as ISDA and GMRA, and key risk‑mitigating clauses.
Proven track record of managing a funds portfolio through market volatility.
