What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Develop and manage the export compliance program ensuring adherence to relevant regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC)
Oversee compliance with research integrity and ethical conduct of research initiatives
Coordinate and advise on international shipments of export-controlled items
Supervise the Research Compliance Analyst and provide mentorship and trainingCollaborate with senior leadership on strategic decisions impacting export and research compliance
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Sciences, Pre-Law, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in export compliance, specifically with U.S. export regulations
Expert knowledge of U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC)
Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to train at all organizational levels
Proven ability to lead and manage projects, including prioritization and task delegation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
MBA or related advanced degree
Experience in managing Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) and Conflicts of Interest (COIs)
Familiarity with federal regulatory frameworks and compliance training
Knowledge of privacy, information, and data security laws (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
Experience using government portals and systems for export compliance
