The AC Hotel Cleveland Circle is looking for an experienced and driven Hotel Chief Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily engineering operations in line with Colwen and brand standards
Recruit, train, and manage the Engineering team
Set and achieve departmental goals to support guest satisfaction and operational success
Drive team engagement, motivation, and recognition efforts
Maintain a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive work environment
Manage ordering and inventory of department supplies and uniforms
Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet guest and operational needs
Supervise, schedule, and evaluate engineering staff; provide coaching and development
Troubleshoot and repair systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and hotel equipment
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures, MSDS)
Lead the property’s preventive maintenance program
Prioritize and address maintenance issues and guest concerns promptly
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and improvements
Assist with budgeting and capital project planning; review vendor bids and proposals
Ensure proper documentation (e.g., vendor agreements, Certificates of Insurance)
Coordinate with local officials for code compliance and property inspections
Maintain property exterior where not contracted (e.g., snow removal, landscaping)
Complete maintenance logs and documentation
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum of
3 years' experience
in hotel engineering management
Proven leadership and team-building abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of
kitchen equipment, refrigeration, fire/life safety systems
Reliable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Willingness to work a
rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays
