$145,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr The 2110 Broadcast Engineer is a senior‑level, hands‑on technical specialist responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission‑critical broadcast systems in IP media environments using SMPTE ST 2110/AES67 alongside traditional SDI (3G/12G) workflows. This role ensures 24/7 reliability and compliance for live production, playout, and multi‑platform distribution. The position demands deep expertise in 2110 broadcast engineering, including PTP synchronization, multicast configuration, and NMOS workflows, as well as proven skills in broadcast maintenance and break/fix repairs. Key Responsibilities

2110 & IP Broadcast Systems Support

Operate, monitor, and maintain SMPTE ST 2110 systems, including AES67 audio and NMOS IS‑04/IS‑05 device registration/control. Configure and troubleshoot multicast routing (IGMP/PIM), VLAN assignments, and QoS for IP broadcast networks. Ensure PTP clock accuracy and stability for all IP media devices. Use broadcast IP analysis tools (Telestream PRISM, Leader LV5600) to verify packet timing, jitter, and 2110 stream integrity.

Hybrid IP/Baseband Operations

Support and maintain SDI (3G/12G) workflows, frame syncs, up/down/cross converters, DAs, and multiviewers. Manage routing switchers (Evertz, Ross Ultrix, Grass Valley) in hybrid IP/baseband environments. Perform QC on outbound feeds for OTA, cable, OTT, and streaming platforms.

Broadcast Maintenance & Break/Fix

Perform preventative maintenance on 2110 broadcast gear, SDI equipment, IP gateways, and encoders/decoders. Diagnose and repair failed broadcast hardware, including component‑level replacements (cards, power supplies, fans, boards). Maintain up‑to‑date firmware/software and apply vendor patches to ensure stability and security. Support facility maintenance: patch bays, fiber splicing, BNC terminations, rack installations, UPS and generator integration.

Technical Skills & Tools

Baseband Video/Audio: SDI (3G/12G), signal routing, frame syncs, conversion, multiviewers. Facility Support: Cable terminations, fiber management, rack/cable organization, redundancy systems. Experience Requirements

7+ years in broadcast engineering, with direct SMPTE ST 2110 operations experience. Strong troubleshooting skills for both IP broadcast and baseband SDI infrastructures. Proficiency in network configuration for media over IP, including VLANs, multicast routing, and PTP sync troubleshooting. Hands‑on broadcast break/fix repair and preventative maintenance experience.
