Director of Production
Pacific International is partnering with a leading manufacturer in the diagnostics space, recognized for their diverse product range and position in the market leader board.
The organization is seeking a Director of Production to oversee the delivery of the most impacting plant and flagship facility. This professional will report to crucial executives and be part of an exciting new line addition, enhancing the plant's production capability and meeting advancing demand due to their strong reputation.
Role Responsibilities
Regulatory & Process Governance: Ensure manufacturing activities remain aligned with applicable regulatory and quality standards, with procedures and work instructions meeting cGMP, ISO, MIOSHA, MDEQ, and related requirements.
Manufacturing Leadership: Provide oversight of end-to-end production operations across the product range, ensuring customer orders are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Global Supply Alignment: Partner with supply chain teams across the company’s sites to balance demand, capacity, and execution within an integrated global operating model.
Operational Performance: Drive improvements in productivity, cost, and throughput by identifying inefficiencies and eliminating non-value-added activities.
Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver sustained operational gains.
Automation & Inspection Strategy: Introduce automation and advanced inspection solutions to enhance process reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
Production Planning & Execution: Oversee production plans to ensure timely product realization and reduce the risk of inventory shortages.
Quality Issue Management: Lead investigations and resolution of product quality issues, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external partners.
People Leadership: Develop and manage team members through coaching, performance management, and structured development planning.
Role Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a closely related technical discipline.
Manufacturing Operations Experience: Demonstrated success leading production operations with accountability for on-time, accurate delivery.
Regulated Environment Expertise: Hands‑on experience working within regulated manufacturing environments governed by cGMP, ISO, MIOSHA, MDEQ, or comparable frameworks.
Process Optimization Skills: Strong capability in assessing workflows, removing inefficiencies, and improving operational effectiveness.
Lean & Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to apply Lean principles to achieve measurable, sustainable improvements.
Automation & Controls Knowledge: Experience implementing automation and inspection technologies to improve consistency, speed, and quality outcomes.
Production Planning Proficiency: Effective at managing manufacturing schedules to maintain product availability and prevent supply disruptions.
Quality & Problem Solving: Analytical problem-solver with experience addressing and resolving complex quality issues across internal and external interfaces.
People Management: Established leader with experience coaching teams, providing performance feedback, and conducting formal evaluations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Strong collaborator able to work effectively with global supply chain and operations partners across multiple locations.
