Radio Frequency Design Engineer Newly created position, Radio Frequency Design Engineer to our Hardware Team. This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays an intricate role in shaping the development of our new product lines. We are seeking a highly motivated engineer with experience in RF (Radio Frequency) design and spectrum analysis to join our team in developing cutting‑edge access control products.

Responsibilities

Product Development Lifecycle

Contribute to concept development, planning, design, and execution stages of major new products or product enhancements.

Translate product requirements into clear and actionable hardware specifications.

Conduct risk assessments such as Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential design issues.

Hardware design and verification

Design schematics and printed circuit boards (PCB) using ECAD tools (e.g., Altium).

Conduct peer reviews of product designs, ensuring compliance with best practices and standards.

Collaborate with test and manufacturing teams to ensure testability and manufacturability.

Prototype and test concept designs and early engineering builds.

Perform design verification testing (DVT), analyze results, and generate reports.

Conduct product validation and usability testing to confirm performance under real‑world conditions.

Perform basic repairs, modifications, and rework of PCBs when necessary.

RF and spectrum analysis

Utilize spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and other RF measurement tools to characterize and troubleshoot wireless communication subsystems.

Ensure designs meet regulatory standards (FCC, CE, etc.) and maintain compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Optimize antenna design, placement, and performance for reliable low‑power wireless solutions.

Oversee pilot production and review first articles for design integrity.

Investigate field return issues, perform root‑cause analyses, and implement design changes or component replacements for end‑of‑life parts.

Coordinate project tasks using Scaled Agile (SAFe) principles, ensuring efficient workflows and continuous process improvements.

Project management

Manage day‑to‑day tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure project milestones are met.

Coordinate with cross‑functional teams—including software/firmware, program management, and external vendors—to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Cross‑functional collaboration

Collaborate with a diverse and dynamic team to design and develop innovative access control products.

Participate in pre‑product innovation (PPI), new product innovation (NPI), and continuous product innovation (CPI) development cycles.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree or additional certifications are a plus.

Proven professional experience in hardware design, demonstrable product ownership and ideally with a focus on RF and wireless technologies.

Strong background in analog, digital, and embedded hardware design.

Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, function generators, DVMs, and protocol/logic analyzers.

Proficiency with electronic computer aided design (ECAD) tools (e.g., Altium) for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Familiarity with low‑power (battery) designs and wireless communication technologies (e.g., BLE, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee) is a significant plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present technical concepts clearly.

Effective team player capable of interfacing with individuals across multiple disciplines—hardware, firmware/software, mechanical, program management, production, and vendors.

Self‑driven and highly motivated; able to set personal goals and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Detail‑oriented, organized, and conscientious, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
