About the Position
We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in HVAC and mechanical/process piping to join our growing Life Science & Industrial team in Peachtree Corners, GA or Atlanta (Cobb County), GA. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant Mechanical and process piping design engineering experience in industrial, cleanroom, or pharmaceutical facilities and a passion for growth, collaboration, and innovation. In this role, the successful candidate will take a leadership position in the design of mechanical systems, including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, and process piping. You will also mentor junior and mid-level engineering professionals and contribute to proposal efforts. Design projects will span multiple markets and geographies, providing opportunities to broaden your knowledge and deepen your expertise in building systems design. We are looking for someone who is an independent self-starter and can move quickly and efficiently through various design stages, from concept planning to construction documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
10+ years of related MEP experience, with demonstrated senior-level responsibility
Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical/process piping design
Strong understanding of HVAC system design and process piping
Proficient with relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD and BIM
Experience mentoring and training employees
Experience leading projects, supporting proposal efforts and interfacing with clients
Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work
Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally
Ability and willingness to travel 25% – while most travel would be domestic, this position could have the opportunity for international travel in which case a valid passport would be necessary
Preferred Qualifications
PE license or EIT Certification with formal plans to obtain PE license in the near future
Industry experience in cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or sterilization facilities
Experience with ASHRAE Laboratory Design and relevant codes and standards
Experience with BSSL2, BSL3, BSL3-Ag, BSL4, or ABSL
Experience with Clean Room design
