Amazon.com is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its work on M&A and other strategic transactions. The candidate must have a strong M&A and strategic transaction background and be able to manage large and complex transactions with tight deadlines, as well as research and advise on transactional and general corporate matters and work effectively with outside counsel. The candidate must be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary. M&A, investments, and other transactional experience at a law firm and/or technology company is required. This role will be Seattle-based.
Basic Qualifications
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
At least six years of major law firm and/or technology company experience
Familiarity with a wide variety of transaction types (e.g., private company, public company, stock purchase, asset purchase, cross-border, minority investments, joint ventures)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with M&A and investments involving technology companies and startups
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Sound and practical business judgment
A proven ability to manage a large number and variety of mission‑critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments
Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in the lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon may provide equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
