As a Senior AI Software Engineer at John Hancock / Manulife, you will drive innovation by designing scalable AI solutions, influencing technical direction, and mentoring cross-functional teams. Your contributions will shape enterprise automation and AI adoption, delivering high-impact solutions aligned with our mission to transform digital experiences. This is a strategic opportunity to drive the development of intelligent agentic systems using Copilot and Power Platform, Salesforce Agentforce and any other low code pro code AI platforms.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the translation of complex business requirements into technical specifications and system designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement high-impact AI solutions.
Architect and develop full-stack AI solutions, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Design and build advanced user interfaces, APIs, and backend logic for AI systems.
Apply advanced coding practices, design patterns, and automation strategies.
Conduct technical “spikes” and feasibility studies to mitigate risks in AI adoption.
Optimize AI models and algorithms for performance, accuracy, and ethical compliance.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including deployment and support guides.
Ensure seamless integration with enterprise platforms and data ecosystems.
Champion responsible AI principles including fairness, transparency, and governance.
Monitor and continuously improve deployed AI agents and systems.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building.
Amendable to working in QC (hybrid setup) and on a mid-shift schedule (or as required by the business).
Decision Authority:
Provides professional advice – takes a lead role of process or program execution. May lead medium to large size projects or work streams with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity with multiple teams representing different interests.
Required Qualifications:
9+ years of experience in software development or automation, with 2+ years in AI or low-code platforms.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, and API-based integrations (e.g SharePoint, M365, Azure, ServiceNow, Salesforce, WD, etc).
Experience with Azure AI services or equivalent AI services, Power BI, and Dataverse is a plus.
Strong understanding of agentic AI, prompt engineering, and workflow orchestration.
Proven ability to influence technical strategy and deliver scalable, ethical enterprise-grade AI solutions.
Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, including autonomous agents, memory, and goal-driven behavior.
Demonstrates strategic adaptability to evolving technologies and ethical AI design principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OpenAI APIs, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, AI Builder), Copilot studio
Knowledge of MLOps, AI governance, and ethical AI frameworks.
Ability to lead agile teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.

Salary range is expected to be between
$104,860.00 USD - $194,740.00 USD
