Basic Job Functions:
St. Louis Cold Drawn Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the safest, most efficient, cost effective means of operation and maintenace of our assets.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform all scheduled PMs for all plant equipment and production lines Troubleshoot and correct all types of equipment issues, primarily mechanical and electrical Perform other facility repairs as required Regularly lift heavy objects (more than 50 lbs) Must weld for repairs and fabrication projects Perform tasks identified and scheduled by Maintenance Lead and/or Maintenance Supervisor Assist in creating, maintaining, and completing work orders throught the work order system Assist in tracking, organizing, and maintaining spare parts inventory and areas
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience with mecanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications:
Experience reading and interpreting schematics and process flow diagrams Experience with basic fabrication Experience in industrial maintenance of material handling systems Experience in welding techniques Experience in construction, commissioning, and start-up of industrial equipment Experience in operating mobile equipment (cranes, forklifts, manlifts, etc.) Extensive experience with hydraulic power units
