Warehouse Associate

$19-$21/hr

Job Description

As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations by using an overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads. You will ensure that loads are safely attached and within lifting limits while maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the crane. Additionally, you will track inventory within your bay and load structural steel beams onto trucks based on order sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Use an overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads safely.
  • Ensure loads are securely attached and within lifting limits.
  • Maintain and clean the crane regularly.
  • Track inventory within your designated bay.
  • Load the bed of trucks with structural steel beams according to order sheets.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in equipment operation, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Material handling and order picking skills.
  • Prior experience operating an overhead crane is highly desirable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ months experience operating a forklift (sit-down, stand-up, or high reach).
  • 6+ months experience operating heavy equipment.
  • 6+ months general warehouse experience.
  • Experience with RF scanners is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is located in a metal distribution center that is not temperature-controlled, meaning the temperature inside reflects the outside weather due to constant truck activity. The work environment is relatively clean, and you will work in a small team of 2-3 people. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt. The available shifts are 1st Shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 2nd Shift from 4:00 PM to 11:30 PM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
