HVAC Mechanic Lead

Job Description Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead HVAC Technician to oversee and perform a wide range of HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership experience, and the ability to supervise projects and personnel. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate with supervisors, team members, and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects and service calls. Delegate tasks to HVAC staff and contractors, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality workmanship. Diagnose HVAC system issues and determine necessary repairs or replacements. Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems and equipment including furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, ventilation systems, and controls. Monitor HVAC systems and components to identify performance issues and recommend preventative maintenance. Balance air and water systems in accordance with HVAC protocols. Test HVAC systems for functionality, performance, and safety compliance. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and systems serviced. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to plan installations or repairs. Supervise and train HVAC staff to ensure a high standard of workmanship and professionalism. Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe and working condition. Participate in training sessions, safety meetings, and professional development workshops. Order and track materials, tools, and equipment necessary for HVAC tasks. Respond to emergency HVAC service calls as needed. Requirements Associate’s degree in HVAC Technology or related field, or equivalent completion of a recognized HVAC trade journeyman program. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC systems, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong understanding of advanced principles of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations. climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or outdoors in varying weather.
