Chief Financial Officer – PE-Backed Construction Services Company
Our client is a middle‑market, highly profitable construction services business serving residential and commercial customers through a network of locations supporting the majority of the U.S. The company is backed by a leading private‑equity sponsor and is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner strategically with the executive team as they drive acquisitive growth and prepare the business for an eventual exit.
We are seeking an operationally oriented CFO to strategically partner with the CEO as a key contributor and support the day‑to‑day operations from a financial perspective. The CFO will transform and professionalize the finance function and demonstrate success in driving efficiencies and establishing best‑in‑class financial and KPI reporting practices. This position requires previous experience working in a private‑equity sponsored environment and familiarity with the nuances of a leveraged balance‑sheet environment while reporting to a board composed of a sophisticated investor group.
You will be a hands‑on leader involved in all growth initiatives and a player‑coach CFO with the finance and accounting team while providing support across the entire organization. You will have previous experience leading, scaling and professionalizing a multi‑location construction services organization utilizing percentage‑of‑completion accounting (POC) where you have implemented best‑practice processes and insightful KPI dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
Partner strategically with the CEO and executive team to drive acquisitive growth and prepare for exit.
Lead day‑to‑day finance operations and professionalize the finance function.
Drive efficiencies and establish best‑in‑class financial and KPI reporting practices.
Report to the board of sophisticated investors in a leveraged balance‑sheet environment.
Act as hands‑on leader and player‑coach for the finance and accounting teams.
Support growth initiatives and cross‑functional organizational initiatives.
Key Qualifications
Executive‑level CFO experience in a private‑equity sponsored environment.
Strong understanding of leveraged balance‑sheet dynamics and board reporting.
Proven track record in leading, scaling, and professionalizing finance functions in multi‑location construction services firms.
Experience with percentage‑of‑completion accounting (POC) and KPI dashboard development.
Operationally oriented leadership with hands‑on involvement in growth initiatives.
