Group Tax Director, US

Join the Bending Spoons team as our Group Tax Director for the United States. In this role, you’ll take ownership of Bending Spoons’ US tax landscape—leading, optimizing, and innovating how we manage our tax responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll ensure rigorous compliance with international regulations, while shaping strategies that enable smart growth. From guiding key business decisions and complex transactions to building world‑class processes, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding and strengthening our platform. Whether you join as a rising star eager to grow fast or as an experienced expert ready to lead at scale, this is a chance to contribute to what we believe to be one of Europe’s most ambitious tech companies. Responsibilities

Oversee international tax compliance and planning, including federal, state, and local income, franchise, and sales taxes, as well as transfer pricing. Calculate tax liabilities, prepare and file returns, and manage the tax aspects of equity plans and contractor arrangements. Ensure proper tax treatment of employee benefits and welfare programs. Conduct tax due diligence for acquisitions and structure transactions efficiently. Stay current on tax law changes, identify savings opportunities (e.g., R&D credits), and liaise with tax authorities and advisors. Qualifications

You’re extremely ambitious in everything you do—and your initiative, effort, and tenacity match the intensity of your ambition. You feel deeply responsible for your work. You hold yourself to a high—and rising—bar. Team spirit.

Spooners in their 20s lead products worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And if you’ve got what it takes, you’ll soon be playing an essential role in major projects, too. All. These. Benefits.

Permanent or fixed‑term. Full‑time. Location

Milan (Italy), London (UK), Warsaw (Poland), Madrid (Spain) or remote in selected countries. Before you apply

If you’ve applied before but didn’t receive an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before applying again. Bending Spoons is a demanding environment. We’re extremely ambitious and we hold ourselves—and one another—to a high standard. While this tends to lead to extraordinary learning, achievement, and career growth, it also requires significant commitment. To help you ramp up quickly and set yourself up for success, we recommend spending your first few months working from our Milan office, regardless of your long‑term work location. It’s the best way to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates. We’ll support you with generous travel and accommodation assistance. After that, you’re welcome to work from our offices in Milan or London, or remotely from approved countries—depending on what we agree at the offer stage. If the role speaks to you and you’re excited to give your best, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
