Software Engineer (Frontend), AI Platform

Collective is on a mission to redefine the way businesses of one work. Our technology and team of trusted advisors help members achieve financial independence by managing everything from business incorporation to accounting, bookkeeping, tax services, and community access—all within a single integrated platform. We empower self‑employed individuals to enjoy the same tax savings that big companies obtain, so they can focus on their passion rather than paperwork. Featured in Forbes, Business Insider, Yahoo, Bloomberg, Financial Times, TechCrunch, and more, Collective is backed by General Catalyst, Sound Ventures (Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary), QED Investors, Google’s Gradient Ventures, Expa, and other investors who have financed iconic companies like YouTube, Substack, Twitch, Box, Hims, Instacart, and Lyft. About the Role

Collective seeks a Software Engineer passionate about tackling complex challenges in new and existing systems. This senior engineer will build a core capability from the ground up, integrating Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and intelligent agent technologies to influence Collective’s operations and growth. You’ll directly improve productivity, reduce operational hurdles, and help serve our expanding community of entrepreneurs with innovative AI solutions, playing a critical role in achieving non‑linear scalability. What You’ll Do

Design and develop highly performant, accessible, and responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks. Leverage Generative AI and related tools to rapidly prototype, iterate on, and build intuitive user experiences, ensuring design does not become a bottleneck for product development. Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate high‑fidelity mockups and interaction models into functional, production‑ready code. Implement compelling user experiences for our AI/ML solutions (including agents, RAG, and related pipelines), focusing on data visualization and intuitive interaction. Build end‑to‑end product features in partnership with product and design teams, taking ownership across the full lifecycle: design, execution, launch, and post‑production support. Champion best practices in software development, frontend architecture, MLOps, CI/CD, and platform development. Stay current with advancements in AI and drive innovation through proof‑of‑concepts and pilot programs. Lead by example, foster a culture of growth and learning, and mentor other engineers. Approach problems with a strong product mindset—balancing technical decisions with customer impact. Tech Stack & Environment

Core: Python (Django/FastAPI), React, TypeScript. Data/Infra: PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes. AI/ML (Emerging): LLM integration (OpenAI/Anthropic), LangChain/LangGraph, vector databases, and agentic frameworks. What You’ll Bring

4+ years of professional experience in full‑stack development, with a strong focus on modern frontend systems (React, Vue, or Angular) and the flexibility to dive into backend development as needed. Expertise in core frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) and state‑management libraries (Redux, MobX, or similar). Proven experience with performance optimization, browser debugging, and cross‑browser compatibility. Experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models or automation solutions in production, including applied AI initiatives. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML (Python) and web development. Curiosity to explore new technologies and the ability to thoughtfully leverage AI to enhance product experiences and UX challenges. A strong sense of urgency and ownership in driving projects from design through execution and support. Excellent problem‑solving, independent and collaborative work skills.
