We are seeking an
Area Director of Sales
to bring passionate leadership & mentorship to the thriving sales team at the
Fairfield Inn LAX & the Aloft LAX
operated by Aimbridge Hospitality. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Aimbridge family and build on the successes of two incredible properties.
Salary range Base pay: $130,000 – $150,000 per year Additional quarterly bonus potential: up to 40%
Qualifications
At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred
Prior experience leading a hotel sales team with strong training, development, and mentorship acumen
Prior Director of Sales or National Sales experience selling major airport markets highly preferred
Prior multi-property sales experience highly preferred
This position is on-site; candidate must be able to be at the properties during working time
Highly developed verbal & written communication skills to negotiate with potential clients
Thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing
Strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment
Proficiency in general computer knowledge
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organization and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to interact and manage people of diverse backgrounds while solving complex problems and creating a productive sales team
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession
Ability to work well in fast‑paced, high‑pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Ability to work with and understand financial information related to sales and marketing plans, budgets, and forecasts
Responsibilities
Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations/bookings to maximize overall revenue
Coordinate sales automation efforts to develop and manage a regional sales database for email campaigns and customer solicitation efforts
Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the hotels’ annual budgets and the advertising, public relations, marketing & sales plans to maximize rate, occupancy, and food & beverage opportunities
Initiate and develop sales trips to key feeder markets and cities with a focus on identifying accounts that directly benefit revenue targets at both hotels
Conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and entertain clients
Understand contract content and negotiate terms
Develop and maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies
Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends
Conduct on‑property visits to assess sales leadership and adherence to Aimbridge Hospitality standards
Comply with attainment of individual and team goals and budgeted metrics
Train hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue
Manage human resources within the division: attract, retain, motivate, hire, train, develop, empower, coach, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, and promote accountability
Develop full working knowledge of hotel operations and policies
Maintain visibility in local community and industry organizations
Attend and conduct meetings and training sessions as required
Maintain professional relationships and promote open communication across both hotels to achieve marketing initiatives
Travel as required
Act on behalf of the General Manager in his/her absence and perform any other duties as requested by management
