About the Role Foxglove is a robotics observability and visualization platform. We manage and provide access to large amounts of data across both our hosted platform and customer sites.
We’re seeking a highly skilled product and data‑oriented Product Engineer with professional experience delivering streaming and analytic workloads for robotics data. You’ll work with other engineers to design and develop our user interfaces, backend services and data processing pipelines.
Location Foxglove is a remote‑friendly company, with employees spread across many locations. We maintain Pacific Time hours and hire within ±4 hours of U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration. We are open to remote for highly experienced candidates with prior experience at a leading robotics or autonomous vehicle company or onsite in our San Francisco office.
Key Responsibilities
Ingest massive volumes of sensor data through both batch and real‑time offload.
Provide low‑latency random‑access (in device, time, sensors) playback over massive volumes of live or recorded data.
Build systems to provide timely analytics across multimodal data.
Support multi‑cloud architecture (deploy in customer cloud accounts across GCP/AWS/Azure).
Offload data from remote devices in network‑constrained environments.

Managed Kubernetes environments in GCP
Customer deployments in Azure and AWS
What We’re Looking For
5+ years professional experience in writing high‑performance production software.
Significant professional experience building REST APIs using TypeScript, Rust or similar backend languages (Go, Python).
Strong experience with a SQL database, query plan optimization, and scaling data workloads.
Experience designing and operating distributed systems.
Familiarity with building user‑facing interfaces in React.
Passion for building technical tools with engineers as the primary users.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, small team environment.
Considers the customer impact when making technical decisions.
Bonus Points Robotics or AV experience.
Experience with Spark/Databricks (data sources, Spark SQL, query optimization, administration).
Infrastructure management (IaC/Terraform, k8s, cloud providers, security).
