Position Overview CHE Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to serve as a Collaborating Physician for our psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants. CHE is a premier behavioral health provider with 700+ clinicians across 11 states, delivering high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care in skilled nursing facilities and outpatient settings. The Collaborating Physician provides clinical oversight to CHE psychiatric NPs/PAs by reviewing charts, ensuring adherence to best-practice guidelines, and supporting diagnostic and treatment accuracy. This role is fully collaborative—no direct patient care required. CHE’s State and Regional Directors provide day-to-day operational support for NPs and PAs.

Key Responsibilities

Review and approve medical records as required by state law.

Provide clinical consultation to NPs/PAs as needed.

Support accurate psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Ensure prescribing practices align with APA and SAMHSA guidelines.

Participate in periodic quality review meetings.

Requirements

MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry.

Must reside in New York and hold an active NY license.

Active DEA registration.
