Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to children and adolescents with rare diseases and neurodevelopmental psychiatric conditions through the Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD) outpatient clinic and affiliated academic medical partnerships.

Lead or participate in collaborative initiatives focused on behavioral health integration, working alongside pediatricians, neurologists, geneticists, and other specialists to deliver coordinated, family-centered care.

Expand access to specialized psychiatric care via telepsychiatry services across Florida.

Contribute to clinical and translational research in pediatric psychiatry, rare disease-associated neuropsychiatric syndromes, or psychiatric genomics.

Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students in psychiatry, behavioral sciences, and pediatric medicine.

Engage in scholarly activities, including peer-reviewed publications, grant writing, and academic presentations at regional and national conferences.

Qualifications

MD, DO or MD-PhD degree with a record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ABPN).

Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida (MD or DO).

Expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents, including those with rare genetic conditions.

A commitment to advancing interdisciplinary care, mentoring, and scholarship is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, including clinical care, education, and scholarly productivity.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills in multidisciplinary settings.
