Overview The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine clinician‑educator to become part of their expanding division in the vibrant city of Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will have a pivotal role in educating the next generation of Maternal Fetal Medicine leaders while enhancing access to specialized care for high‑risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and the surrounding regions.

In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion—an 100,000 square‑foot, 250‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. The Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute supports the clinical care and is the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas.

Qualifications

Board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine

Academic orientation, interest in teaching, and passion for outreach

Responsibilities & Opportunities

Involvement in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows

Join a collegial team of 11 MFM medicine physicians, APPs, and support staff

Clinic Schedule: 3 full days of clinic per week with approximately 15‑25 patients per clinic and ½‑1 day of admin time at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics

Call Schedule: one weekend day backup call and 2‑3 weekdays per month

Inpatient Schedule: 4 weeks per year, one week per quarter

Travel throughout the state of South Carolina to provide Maternal Fetal Medicine care

No research requirement
