About the Position

As an actuarial intern at Havarti, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge creatively and work collaboratively on real-world business problems. In addition to meaningful project work, this internship is designed to offer training and education on healthcare topics, technical skills, and tools commonly needed in the actuarial profession. This opportunity is unique in that youll have direct contact and mentorship from many of Havartis senior leaders and advisors. This is a chance to gain valuable insight into the significant impact that actuaries can have in a complex industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and review of actuarial models
  • Perform data analysis using Excel, R, Power BI or other tools
  • Document methodologies and results clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support ad-hoc request from consulting teams and clients
  • Create and present an end-of-summer review to actuarial and senior leadership teams

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelors degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field with an expected graduation date of May 2027
  • Successful completion of at least one SOA exam
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with R, PowerBI, or SQL is preferred
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Flexible can-do attitude, willing to help with all types of tasks, passion to learn new things
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous successful work experience of any type is required
  • Must have legal right to work in the US; must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
