Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in mechanical design concepts, particularly in automated machinery and facility systems. This role requires hands-on experience with new process layouts within industrial or manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new processes and equipment layouts.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for mechanical systems.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and operational issues in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of automated machinery and equipment design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and project management abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Automation, manufacturing engineering, work instruction, process engineering, heavy equipment, manufacturing and/or mechanical experience with heavy automated machinery/equipment.
- Technical troubleshooting on heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
- Writing work instructions, documentations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Reducing downtime and process improvement experience.
- Root cause analysis and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with mechanical design, mechanical engineering, creo, HVAC, facilities, new process design, mechanical maintenance, metal, project planning, project management, Allen Bradley PLC, and manufacturing process.
- Familiarity with metal or aluminum extrusion.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Desire to grow into a leadership or managerial role.
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, OSHA).
Work Environment
The work environment involves a combination of a manufacturing floor and a facility shop floor with automated equipment, with a 50%/50% split. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with availability to be on call during weekends. The dress code requires boots and pants suitable for an industrial environment, along with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats and glasses. The company is rapidly growing, with 115 employees projected to increase to 230 by mid-next year. The work can be physically demanding, especially in summer heat.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $64000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
