About the Role

The HR Operations Manager leads and optimizes core HR operational programs, emphasizing enterprise‑level project management, process improvement, and contingent workforce transformation. The role oversees programs related to contingent labor, learning management system (LMS) requirements, onboarding/offboarding, employee document management system (EDMS), employee privacy, and document retention. It partners closely with the Sr. HR Operations Manager, HRIS/IT, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, and Payroll teams. Prior biopharma experience and partnership with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for contingent labor are strongly preferred.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)

  • Lead and continuously improve HR operational programs related to contingent workforce management, required LMS trainings, onboarding/offboarding, EDMS, employee privacy, and document governance.
  • Direct the transformation of the contingent workforce program, including optimization of MSP relationships, cost management, compliance, classification, and workforce deployment.
  • Serve as the HR process owner for cross‑functional workflow design, documentation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage complex, cross‑functional HR projects from initiation through implementation, applying project management methodologies to ensure on‑time and high‑quality execution. Primary projects include contingent workforce program transformation and employee document retention system.
  • Evaluate, redesign, and streamline HR operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Partner with HRIS to drive automation, system enhancements, and data integrity and security across HR technologies.
  • Lead change management efforts to support new systems, processes, and workforce strategies.
  • Identify and advise key stakeholders and leaders on HR operations, policy interpretation, compliance, and contingent workforce planning.
  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and leaders to drive operational readiness and scalable HR solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, IT, Finance, Accounting and Payroll on process alignment, issue resolution, and special projects.
  • Build productive partnerships with functional stakeholders, acting as a trusted and influential resource.
  • Support long‑term HR planning, budget development, and capability building across HR operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Behavioral Sciences, or related field with 6+ years of HR operations, project management, organizational development, or related experience OR
  • Master’s degree with 4+ years of related experience as noted above.
  • Biopharma industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with HR systems and process automation.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and exercise sound judgment.
  • Experience managing or transforming contingent workforce programs, including MSP partnership management, is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Demonstrated experience executing mid‑to‑large scale HR projects, process redesign, and operational transformation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including interpreting HR data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $119,700.00‑$164,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity‑based long‑term incentive program. Benefits include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
