Inpatient Mental Health facility is seeking a Psychiatrist to join their team.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 3 months+
- Shift: 8am-4pm
- Schedule: Part Time
- Setting: Inpatient Adult Mental Health
Responsibilities included but not limited to are:
- Patient population: 18+ for acute care
- Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
- Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary treatment team that includes providers, nursing, therapy and support staff
- APP Supervision
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including interviews, physical exams, and reviewing medical histories to diagnose disorders.
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans using medications (psychotropics) and various therapies.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, evaluating treatment effectiveness.
- Work closely with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other specialists to provide integrated care.
- Manage acute psychiatric crises, ensuring patient safety.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical records.
- Contribute to discharge planning and recommend follow-up care.
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina Medical Doctor (MD) license
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
Preferred :
- 2 years of psychiatric/mental health experience is preferred
