Summary
We are looking for an experienced Product Compliance Engineer with extensive experience in certifying products to world-wide safety and performance standards to join our engineering team and to build on our successful line of power products. This individual will help develop industrial power systems, battery chargers and inverters, engine starting systems, and DC back-up power systems across a wide power range (150W to 100kW). This person will be involved from concept investigation and design, through successful production launch and support of these products.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply complex safety, EMC, performance, and environmental standards and codes to
- Stored Energy System’s designs.
- Provide design requirements such as pollution degree, creepage and clearance, hipot voltages, thermal
- limits, and enclosure requirements to design engineers.
- Conduct peer to peer and cross-functional design reviews to ensure designs meet regulatory
- requirements.
- Coordinate product compliance submittals, testing, follow-up service reports, and maintenance with
- certification agencies (UL, Seismic, ABS, and others).
- Perform compliance assessments, testing, and documentation for self-declarations (CE marking for
- Europe, NFPA 110, REACH, Conflict Minerals, and others).
- Provide sales support for regulatory related questions and requirements.
- Maintain equipment, calibrations, and procedures required to perform regulatory testing.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable standards and changes as the apply to SENS products.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar related field.
- Strong understanding of AC / DC power circuits, spacings, circuit protection, system wiring and terminations, power supplies, and batteries.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) related to the design of equipment.
- Regulatory compliance and certification experience for power systems and industrial products.
- Expertise in interpreting standards and performing testing.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
- Flexible team player who actively establishes and maintains effective working relationships and who is willing to multi-task and help wherever needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UL 1012, UL 1236, UL 508A, UL 1973, and UL 1745.
Location: This position is in Longmont, CO with flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.
Base Compensation: $106,000 - $136,000 is the projected range of annual base salary for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
