Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will support daily financial operations and assist with special projects, ensuring the smooth functioning of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a collaborative attitude to thrive in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities:
- Process cash receipts, including coding and batching funds accurately.
- Monitor daily bank account activities and provide details on incoming wires for gift entries.
- Input accounts payable invoices into accounting software systems.
- Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- Update fee schedules and allocation pools related to specific funds.
- Generate monthly reports, including operating expense budgets and ad hoc fund reports.
- Reconcile gifts and grants across multiple databases to maintain consistency.
- Act as a backup for accounts payable processing and grant disbursement functions.
- Support donor relations by assisting with gift recording and quarterly fund statements.
- Assist in recordkeeping and reporting for external grant compliance. Requirements - Strong communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work cooperatively with team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping functions.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance is preferred.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, or NPact Foundation Cloud is a plus.
- Reliable work-from-home setup with stable internet connection.
- Ability to occasionally lift light loads and navigate office spaces.
