One of our Partners, is seeking a Board-Certified Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Neurosurgery service line on a locum tenens basis. The provider will cover 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) on a 7-on / 7-off rotation , providing inpatient neurosurgical coverage within a Level I Trauma Center environment.
This assignment offers consistent block scheduling, a high-acuity inpatient setting, and collaboration with a seasoned neurosurgical team.
Pay Ranking: Top 15% of 2025 national market rates for Neurosurgery APPs.

Schedule: 7p-7a 7-on / 7-off rotation
Setting: Inpatient only
Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center
Team: 9 Neurosurgeons 9 APPs 24/7 inpatient support
Procedures: Admissions, consults, rounding, discharges (if needed), and optional OR first assist
Orientation: 4 hours, non-billable (required day before start)
Joint Commission-certified agency (HPA Healthcare)
Travel & Lodging: Prepaid by HPA Healthcare
Malpractice Insurance: Provided
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery , Neurocritical Care , or Inpatient Surgery
Proficient in post-operative management and overnight consults
Skilled at evaluating acute neurosurgical issues and coordinating care with on-call surgeons
Familiar with EMR documentation, handoff communication, and inpatient rounding workflows
Provide overnight inpatient coverage for the Neurosurgery team
Manage admissions, consults, and post-operative follow-up care
Evaluate and stabilize neurosurgical and trauma patients
Assist in the OR if privileged (optional)
Document care plans, progress notes, and orders accurately
Support seamless handoffs between day and night teams
