to serve as the backbone of complex automation control system projects. This role is critical to ensuring fast, reliable, and secure data transfer across industrial environments where uptime is everything. and

What Youll Do Own network architecture and system design for industrial automation projects from sale through customer start-up Design network topology, hardware specifications, software optimization, and industrial protocol integration Partner directly with customer IT teams to integrate automation systems into enterprise infrastructure Drive best practices across internal Controls Engineers and customer IT organizations Support system design reviews, requirements analysis, and complex application development Assist with documentation for operating procedures, testing, and field service Support Controls Engineers during system start-ups, updates, troubleshooting, and modifications Provide remote and on-site technical support including VPN, virtualized, and network troubleshooting Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Customer Service, and Sales teams Support Sales by helping define project scopes, pricing, change orders, and proposals Recommend hardware, software, or design improvements that reduce cost or increase production efficiency Installation, Field Support & Training Supervise and inspect installation and performance of control systems and interfacing equipment Work with contractors, electricians, and plant maintenance teams during installation and calibration Diagnose system and network issues and provide hands-on field support Provide customer consultation for system installations, expansions, and repairs Occasionally guide and train less-experienced personnel Deliver technical and non-technical support to customers and internal teams Work Environment Combination of office, plant, and customer site environments Exposure to industrial facilities such as bakeries, feed mills, and manufacturing plants Environments may be hot and dusty Travel Approximately 20% nationwide travel Occasional international travel Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering, Networking, Automation, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience 5 to 10 years of relevant industrial automation, networking, or control systems experience preferred Strong understanding of PLC and PC-based industrial control architectures Proven ability to bridge OT and IT environments Hands-on experience with network monitoring and packet capture tools Working knowledge of VPN technologies including SSL VPN and IPSec Experience with virtualization platforms such as ESXi Familiarity with Microsoft SQL and MySQL or MariaDB Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Detail-oriented with pride in producing high-quality work Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, reach, grasp, and work at a computer Comfortable working in industrial environments up to 110F Ability to work on lifts and ladders up to approximately 20 feet Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Valid drivers license and ability to rent a car Ability to travel via commercial airlines
