Accounts Receivable Supervisor (Cherry Hill)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor position is responsible for setting and maintaining the appropriate policies to govern the extension of credit to various customer groups, managing collections, and company general liability insurance policy. This role will be required to exercise analytical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills while working closely with sales, operations, and accounting as well as with our customers and distributors. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, analytical in nature, and wants to work in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and monitor credit policy and control system in collaboration with sales, finance, and executive team members. Assess and analyze the creditworthiness of new and existing customers and establish credit limits per customer. Work with Compass, Euler, and sales to determine appropriate limits and develop a policy for extending credit outside of approved limits. Review and approve customer account holds and daily order releases. Provide recurring reporting on key credit-related metrics. Manage 3rd party collection agency (Compass) and assist in all collection efforts to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), reduce over 30-day AR balances, and maximize cash receipts. Be the point of contact for escalation of collections matters and ensure consistent guidelines are followed across sales reps and customers. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and controls, and where appropriate design and implement new processes and procedures to enable greater efficiency and mitigate risk. Maintain accurate historical records & document imaging retention. Cross train in other AR functions (billing/cash application/etc.) to assist as needed. Assist with the timely close of AR for month end. Provide supporting documentation for audits. Identify and implement process improvements on an on-going basis. Maintain a professional attitude and work collaboratively with others. Perform other duties as assigned by manager, within scope and abilities. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years of accounts receivable experience (preferably in the food & beverage industry) 1-2 years minimum in a supervisor role preferred. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. General knowledge of accounting (GAAP) Highly skilled at problem solving and performing detailed research. Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Effective leadership skills and ability to work as a team player. Able to manage and prioritize high volume workload with minimum supervision. Ability to problem solve with attention to detail. Strong Microsoft Office skills Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance. Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA. Including the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
