A Leading Commercial Finance Firm is seeking a skilled Credit Underwriter to support the origination, structuring, and execution of complex financing transactions across private credit, project finance, and asset-based lending. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse deal types, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and develop expertise across multiple credit segments. You will play a critical role in evaluating new business opportunities, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards.
Responsibilities
Originate and underwrite private credit, project finance, and asset-based lending transactions, ensuring alignment with credit policies and risk appetite.
Prepare and present prescreen and approval memos, including financial analysis, valuation, diligence findings, and obligor ratings to credit committee.
Lead financial modeling and sensitivity analysis, structuring transactions and coordinating with sponsors, borrowers, agent banks, advisors, and external counsel through diligence and documentation.
Monitor industry trends and portfolio performance, support onboarding and amendments, and maintain accurate pipeline records in Salesforce.
Requirements
3+ years in commercial lending with exposure to private credit, project finance, or asset-based lending; formal credit training preferred.
Advanced financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling (corporate or project finance); proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
Strong understanding of underwriting, structuring, and documentation for complex credit transactions; CFA Level II/III candidate or charterholder a plus.
Excellent communication, time management, and ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
