Job Summary The Registered Nurse position is located in the Main Operating Room on the Charles Street campus. It is a full‑time role (36 hours per week) with shifts available Monday–Friday, typically two 8‑hour and two 10‑hour shifts. The RN will care for Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology patients and work collaboratively with interns, residents, fellows and attending physicians.
Responsibilities
Maintain professional nursing practice standards and demonstrate competence in patient care through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Direct and guide ancillary personnel while upholding nursing practice standards.
Observe patients, set priorities, and function under stress with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; baccalaureate degree preferred.
Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in Massachusetts.
Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience; prior OR nursing experience required.
Demonstrated leadership, ability to work under stressful situations, and well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
Membership in a professional nursing organization desirable.
